Hey Royce, making a comment for class and glad to see your one of the younger people in class that are all up on this computer stuff. I could use some help,so if you ever have the time I would appreciate it,good luck. Robert G.http://voodooroyce.blogspot.com/2012/06/creating-this-blog.html
Well my fellow classmate, some how you have been tricked. I am probably one of the older people in the class and my computer skills are fair if that. I too am having a bit of trouble with this technology thing, but maybe we can plug through it together. Talk to ya soon Robert
OK, So I have just watched the "MQ Gamifying Education" video, which gives some important insight on the program and techniques we are using in this class. This is all very new to me, since I am kind of old school in my learning. The down side to this is that I can see how some of the computer challenges are tough for someone like me with limited computer knowledge, not being raised in a technological environment. Don’t misconstrue this as a negative over all, I believe a lot of good is involved in this type of learning, and I myself have learned much already. I was impressed with the lay out of the “Learning Techniques” that this program uses for teaching. The whole premise of teaching up instead of down was awesome, and made me question why nobody has ever considered this before. It was obvious to me, how people with learning issues, and who have trouble staying focused could benefit from this greatly. There were also several other points to this learning I found intriguing, such as the unity of the class and getting everyone involved with what is going on. There is no singling out or feelings of not being involved, huge for a student’s self-worth. Granted some people don’t want to be out front and included in everything, but it leaves that opportunity wide open. The last thing I will comment on is the “Agency” they talked about, and giving the student the feeling of control over their own destiny. That is a huge factor in today’s society, when everything seems to be spinning out of control. I believe more children would be prone to staying in school if they felt as though they are in control of their lives. In closing: very informative video, and I’m struggling with the technology and damn proud to be part of this new and wonderful learning experience.P.S. Hope this thing is two hundred words, would hate to have it kicked back.......Later Kids!
That is a cool pic of the motorcycle. I just recently sold my Suzuki DR650. It was a really good bike with less than 5000 miles. I just never had the time to spend riding it. So I'm a bit jealous.
icu dude...gratz
ReplyDeleteSo I'm able to send this to others
ReplyDeleteI did it too. Now I'm having a hell of a time logging into some of these other quests. Guess some of us are not cut out for technology.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a great time with the quests as well fellow traveler, though the journey may be up hill in the snow. Just have to hope it gets easier haha
